Dear Parishioners,
In St. Paul's letter to the Colossians, we are reminded that the goal of life in this world is keep focused on the life in the world to come.
"Brothers and sisters: If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Think of what is above, not of what is on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ in your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory."
The great celebration of the feast of Easter serves as a reminder to us of Christ's resurrection and presence in our midst at all times and in all circumstances. Our faith is rooted in the fact that Jesus did indeed rise from the dead and is present to us through the Church to this day. The resurrection affords us the eyes of faith to see His holy presence in our midst, in the Sacraments and most especially in the Eucharist. As beautiful as the world can be at times, nothing the world offers can bring any one of us beyond the limits this world imposes. God offers eternal life through his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Keep your eyes fixed on the Lord and never lose hope that God is always with you. God gives the grace to withstand all that may come at us so that we might keep our hope sustained in the promise and in the presence of the Lord.
May this great feast of Easter encourage you to live your faith more deeply and sincerely in the power of the Resurrection of Christ who is always with you!
Psalm 118: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever. Let the house of Israel say, His mercy endures forever. The right hand of the Lord has struck with power; I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. By the Lord has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes."
Blessed Easter to you and to all of your loved ones!
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father Tarantino
