Dear Parishioners,
Jesus asked His followers a very important question when He said, "But who do you say that I am?" The answer to that question can make a huge difference in the life of a believer. Those who strive to model their lives after Christ, do so because they believe that Jesus is truly Lord and Savior. Jesus said, "If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Thus, for a true believer, following Christ must be a first priority. The promise of God to all those who place their faith in Christ is to provide all that is needed to accomplish the "will of the Father" - "Thy Kingdom come - Thy Will be done."
If you believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, God will provide you with everything you need to authentically and faithfully live out your life. Living one's life for Christ and accomplishing the "will of the Father," will result in tremendous peace and joy which the world cannot give nor take away. My friends, you can make this decision today. At this very moment, you can choose Christ above all things. If you decide to define Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and ask for the grace to live your life following in His footsteps, God will provide you with the grace to be successful in fulfilling the plan formed long ago. God's plan is to redeem everything and everyone through love. Therefore, in all that you are and in everything that you do, in the name of Jesus Christ, you can, by God's grace, be a willing participant in the unfolding drama of love at work.
The Psalmist best describes the result of a faith-filled life in Christ.
"O God, you are my God whom I seek; for you my flesh pines and my soul thirsts like the earth, parched, lifeless and without water.
Thus have I gazed toward you in the sanctuary to see your power and your glory; for your kindness is a greater good than life; my lips shall glorify you.
Thus will I bless you while I live; lifting up my hands, I will call upon your name. As with the riches of a banquet shall my soul be satisfied, and with exultant lips my mouth shall praise you.
You are my help, and in the shadow of your wings I shout for joy. My soul clings fast to you; your right hand upholds me."
Again, I ask you to make the decision today and define your relationship with Christ so as to follow him in all that you say and in all that do.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father Tarantino
