RCIA
On Sunday, June 13, 2010, we welcomed new members in our midst. Emily Ferraro
celebrated the "Rite of Acceptance into the
Order of Catechumens." Emily is preparing for
Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
Sheryl Radomile already shares our Christian faith through
Baptism. She celebrated the "Rite of Welcoming,"
as she marks this moment of following God's
call to live her Christian faith and complete her initiation
within the Catholic community of St. Hilary.
You are very important in this rite, for it is the whole
parish community that is welcoming
them, sharing our Christian
faith with them, and walking the
faith journey together in the days
and years ahead. Take some time
this week to reflect on your own
faith journey and your commitment
to Christ. Please pray for Emily and
Sheryl as they continue their journey in response to God's call.
Adult Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation was celebrated for adults, 18 and over, at
the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption in San
Francisco on Pentecost Sunday, May 23, 2010.
Preparation classes are offered through the Office of
Religious Education and Youth Ministry at One
Peter Yorke Way in San Francisco.
If you are a baptized Catholic and have received the sacrament of
the Eucharist and wish to avail of this opportunity to
complete the sacraments of initiation please call
Sr. Dolores at 415-435-1122 x 121 and she will be happy
to help you begin the process.
The RCIA process is year round. If you have a desire, or feel called to inquire into the Catholic faith, contact Sr. Dolores at 415-435-1122.
You may have questions, you may feel unsure that this is the right time for you, or the right path to follow; whatever your concerns or desires please understand that you are simply inquiring into the Catholic faith and there is no pressure applied to have you complete the journey. You are welcome to engage at whatever level you feel called.
Landings – A Program for Returning Catholics
Have you wandered away from the Church? Have you thought about returning, but are unfamiliar with the changes? Would you be interested in beginning the journey back to the Church? A group of parishioners are waiting to welcome you back. Landings is a program designed to provide a safe environment in which to ask questions, share stories and discuss feelings. Please join us.
