People who start a new, low-carbohydrate diet all say the same thing. They miss bread! They miss that starchy staff of life, that ultimate comfort food that makes them feel nourished and whole. But for nearly a year and a half, many Catholics have been spiritually malnourished. COVID has robbed them of the most sublime bread of all, the Bread of Life, which has the greatest nutritional profile of any "superfood" because it nourishes both body and soul.
So, over the next five weeks in our new message series called, Break Bread, we’re going to be looking at all the reasons why Catholics, for more than 2,000 years, have considered the Eucharist a necessary part of their spiritual diet.
